ABOUT

Hi, my name is Kokeb.
I’m an internationally certified coach who integrates coaching with first-hand experience inside workplace systems.
Before becoming a coach, I spent over 14 years working across five organizations, primarily in the nonprofit sector. My professional journey began in Ethiopia and later took me to Sudan, Uganda, and Denmark.
For more than eight years, I worked as an expatriate within the United Nations in Human Resources Management. My work spanned recruitment, HR operations, and Learning & Development. In L&D, I designed and managed virtual learning programs for international and multicultural audiences.
Working across these contexts broadened my understanding of work – not just as a position we hold, but as something influenced by culture, structure, and opportunity. I’ve seen how organizational realities can both support and limit professional growth.
Over the years, I’ve coached professionals across diverse cultural and organizational contexts and mentored managers in developing coaching skills as part of a leadership development program. Â
These international experiences continue to inform how I approach my coaching, keeping the work reflective while grounded in the realities people are navigating in their careers.
I’m particularly interested in learning that deepens over time. I started Memmar Coaching to offer the kind of support I once needed – space to pause, make sense of what’s happening and move forward with more clarity.
If you’re considering what might be next in your career, I’d be glad to support you.

What Memmar Means
Memmar (መማáˆ) means learning in Amharic.
Memmar Coaching works from the understanding that meaningful career change – especially at mid-career – is less about quick answers and more about learning how to listen, reflect, and make sense of what’s changing.
Memmar exists for people who feel uncertain, or quietly disconnected, and want to explore a more meaningful direction – without abandoning everything they’ve built.
The Focus
Career exploration in mid-career is different.
Earlier on, change may have felt easier.
Now, even when something isn’t working, change can feel risky.
This work creates space to:
Understand what’s no longer working
Reconnect with what matters now
Explore sustainable ways forward that respect your current context
The focus isn’t on quick fixes – but on clarity you can trust.Â

How I Work
My coaching approach blends structure with depth – so you feel supported both practically and emotionally.
I work at a pace that respects your context and current circumstances – without pushing toward predetermined outcomes.

“In a span of 8-9 weeks, I can definitely vouch for the progress I have made and a lot of clutter has been cleared in my life.Â
Kokeb was not judgmental and her questioning technique was what gave fresh perspective to issues I was facing. I found her to be really supportive and very professional.”
A.S., Lawyer
“Kokeb provided me with great insight into my personal self and the way I manage others at work.Â
She was able to remain objective and acted with true professionalism throughout the entire coaching journey. She made it easy for me to open up about my stories without feeling judged. “
